the cpu u have is fine its a good price but you should be able to overclock it which will make you happier in the end. (im going to be doing that )

truthfully since u want to make a gameing pc you should b ready to spend a little more like at least $900.

Also if you wont really be multitasking much then you might want to consider a duo core because it will run games a little better since the quad core wont need to use all four cores just to play game...but if you are going to be multitasking and gameing the quad will give you better overall performance.
