As a matter of fact I have tried several OS as well as changing the hard drive with windows 2000 already on it all with the same results. This was the original hard drive and I had no problems with it prior to switching to the 120 gig. Also I said it was working o.k. since the power outage. well the ugly monster suddenly reared it's head again after about 14 hours operating time. thnx for the response, rob

I got the computer used and have had it for about a year. I am not sure exactly how old or how many hours operating time it has on it. As far as software I am not using anything I haven't used before. I use AVG anti-virus and recently ran a scan with Norton. No viruses showed up. Maxthon uses the most ram at 57000 combined with explorer at 20000 for a total of 77000, but like I said it will freeze or restart while coming up. The only thing using much CPU is idle process at 99 while idleing. Thnx to all that are helping, Rob
