Netgear RP614 Not Working This morning I tried to set up a new wireless router (EchoLife HG520s) that I got after joining TalkTalk Broadband.
I started attaching it to my pc, then found out it will only work if the included ADSL cable goes through a microfilter from a phone socket, into the router. My internet comes through a cable instead (not sure what the technical term is) but I gathered that I wasn't going to get it to work.
I took out all the cables I'd put in it, and started to reattach my old Netgear RP614 Router. I set it up exactly as it was for the last 5 months (working almost flawlessly) but now there is no internet.
Previously, I had a cable from my wall going into a "ntl:home broadband internet" box, then some ethernet attaching that to my router, then more ethernet from the router to my computer and to a home plug for my xbox live. Anyone know why now the internet doesn't work through my router?
(to get onto the forums im bypassing the router all-together, ethernet straight from the internet box to the pc.) |
