The long and the short of it, Dazzer, is that the game you want to run needs a better PC than you've got at the moment. Boosting the speed of your machine can
sometimes be quick and easy, but if you're asking the question here, the likelihood is that it's not something you'd be ready for this weekend.
The very first thing you need to find out is whether or not your CPU can run at a higher speed than it's currently set for. It's probably already running at max, but if not, the next question is whether the other components (principally motherboard) can cope with it running at a higher speed. These changes are usually effected by changing jumper settings on the motherboard, so you're going to need to get the necessary info from somewhere. You might be lucky - it might be printed in legible text on the motherboard itself .... or maybe not.
If your motherboard can cope with a higher speed CPU, but the CPU is going as fast as possible, then you'll need to upgrade the CPU. Off-the-shelf components are easy enough to fit - just make sure you get a compatible processor.
At this stage, you might want to ask yourself how much you want to play
that game!
