Firstly Welcome aboard!

You may find that its quite difficult to even install xp sp2 on your laptop, without having to find all sorts of different drivers. I have a Advent 8117 and I gave up trying to locate the xp equivalent of vista drivers. One main issue is the High Def Sound on newer laptops. Can you post the make and model of your laptops.
