If you absolutely need windows for some program or app that is not available to mac, just install Boot Camp (free) and partition a small piece of your harddrive on a mac for windows xp sp2 or vista.
That's what I did for three programs that are more on the rare side.
And they are not overpriced, you get what you pay for.
I used to think they were overpriced half hearted excuses of computers....... then I played around on one I got real cheap because a buddy of mine told me to give them a try....
whoa.
no slowdowns
no crashes
my graphics go way up when utilizing boot camp
no weird error messages
no viruses
no spyware
more options
easier to become familiar with
no pointless software.....
etc, etc, etc.
the list goes on and on.
I know I'm happy with mac's.
To each his own
But you do have to agree that in order to be able to say anything either way against or for mac or pc, you've got to have prolonged experience with both.
