It's really your choice..... Okay, Le's just say I'm not here to bash PC's. But Vista is like putting lipstick on a Pig. It's still a pig!! It's over kill, requires too much system resources and it complicates the whole windows experience. In my opinion it's mostly window dressing.
Mac OSX or Windows Vista, it's hands down easier to use the Mac.
Now if you ask me about Mac OSX and Windows XP, it's all about how you are going to use it. I have both, work on both and each have their major pluses and minuses.
Mac: Easy to Set up and a great set of full apps.
PC: Easy to set up, but full of bloatware (Software samples from vendors to keep the cost of PC's down. My PC at home still gets pop-ups for upgrades.
If you just want Email, Internet, Photos, Music, Video, then get a Mac.
If you want to develop Access or .net apps get a PC.
If you want to play games then get a XBox, PS3 or a PC*(*With one hell of a graphics card.)
Mac's have their drawbacks, like some websites don't follow W3C specifications and build their sites for windows only. Not really a Mac's fault. They cost a little more, but there is the reliability factor, the software that comes with it and I won't tell you there's a coolness factor. But most people smile when they first get on a Mac.
Choose what you think will work best for your needs. If you let it up to me to pick your computer, I'd have to say, pick the one that you want and can support or the one that your support would pick and then call that support every time you have a question. That'll teach your support for recommending based on his needs and not yours.
But it is true, your support will know how to deal with the PC's specific issues and probably even you.
Happy Computing........ |
